This is the question being posed by "Let's Talk," a new campaign from Brit Tzedek v'Shalom that is building support among American Jews to urge U.S. diplomatic engagement towards resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and changing the way American Jews talk and think about Israel. We all know that six years of diplomatic neglect from the Bush Administration have brought neither security nor peace to Israel or her neighbors. "Let's Talk" aims to encourage the Bush Administration to urgently promote and facilitate talks between Israel and the Palestinians, as well as Israel and Syria and Israel and Lebanon.

"Let's Talk" also aims to reinvigorate dialogue and debate within the American Jewish community about a negotiated two-state resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In these more trying times, it is easy to stay silent on the issue -- and in the past year our community has increasingly done so. But we cannot stay silent anymore; we have to talk, to each other and to our government.
